Distilling Dreams

A Documentary Film

Clips & Outtakes Screening - Saturday, Sept 29, 2018

This event will show a 10 minute video screening of clips from the film, in conjunction with the one year anniversary party for Still Austin Whiskey Co. at 2pm, 4pm, & 6pm.

Distilling Dreams is a feature length documentary which follows the founders of Still Austin Whiskey Co.over 5 years through the construction and opening of the first urban distillery in Austin.
With no existing supply chain in central Texas for the types and amount of grains Still Austin needs to produce their product, the burgeoning team builds from the ground up, working to convince their community about the regional importance of their Grain to Glass approach to whiskey making.

Filming began February 2015 and will continue through December 2020.

STILL AUSTIN ANNIVERSARY PARTY
https://www.facebook.com/events/235889077065994/

"We are turning ONE YEAR OLD and want to celebrate with our local community and loyal customers. On Saturday, September 29, we’re hosting a GRAIN-TO-GLASS COUNTRY FAIR complete with Tiny Tails To You Petting Zoo, Amy’s Ice Cream, food truck snacks, popcorn, funnel cake, Poems By Violet typewriter poetry, games for prizes, and live music by Mismatch Bluegrass Band. Entry is FREE!

Guests may enjoy Waterloo Sparkling Water and of course specialty cocktails made with Still Austin Whiskey and Gin. There will also be a sneak peek preview of a documentary by Distilling Dreams on STILL founders that has followed the distillery for 5 years!

Since we wouldn’t be where we are today without our Texas farmers, 10% of sales from bottles and merchandise during the party will benefit the STAR Fund (State of Texas Agriculture Relief Fund). We are also celebrating our 1000th Barrel, so be sure to get your picture made with it at the photo booth!"

City of Austin Community Initiatives Grant - Seeking Matching Funds

SUPPORT LOCAL FILMMAKING

I have applied to the City of Austin Community Initiatives Grant to hold a free public screening of clips and outtakes from the film on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Still Austin Whiskey Company.

There will be about a 10 min long video presentation featuring footage from the first 3 years of filming, highlighting the city of Austin and interviews about the community support the distillery founders have received.  There will also be a Q&A to talk about the film project, and what it is like to make a film over 7 years.  I will be joined by the subjects of the film, the owners and distillers of Still Austin Whiskey Co.

In order to receive the full grant amount of $2750,  I must also raise in matching cash donations half the grant amount of $1375.   I am asking for pledges through June 24th to help me achieve this goal of getting the full grant to be able to put on this community event.
